Bob Boyd

Bob's insurance career originated with a British property and casualty insurance company in 1963.  After an accelerated five year apprenticeship in various underwriting disciplines, he switched to the brokerage side of the business in 1968; first as an employee of an Edmonton insurance brokerage and later as a nominee broker for Wylie-Crump in Vancouver.

Bob has gained a reputation for providing innovative custom crafted risk reduction and risk transfer methods and products to a number of clients with intricate and unusual insurance and guarantee needs.  Bob was also the first broker known to have assembled a multi insurer quota share liability risk placement in Canada.  He has created insurance markets for a number of original underwriting programs such as the privatization of the Travel Fund of Ontario (TICO) and the establishment of the Travel Fund of Saskatchewan.  He is past board member of ACTA BC and is currently active in providing conference and special events liability insurance for the hospitality industry.  The mix of accounts developed since 1980 is weighted towards the construction trades and hospitality businesses. 

He has been with the Wylie-Crump  portfolio since 1972 and is currently president and co-director of Wylie-Crump along with Nolan Heuchert, Graham Sibbald and Brian Lawson.

 

Brian Lawson

Over an 18 year surety career, Brian has been an underwriter and the Western Regional Manager of a large Canadian surety company. Most recently, Brian was the local Surety vice president of an international insurance brokerage firm. Brian has been involved in a number of complex domestic and international surety programs focused on the construction and mining sectors. Brian's financial and surety experience has been a proven asset for many intrepid bond accounts enabling them to increase work volume while decreasing their fiscal risk and that of the surety.

Brian is a past BC Chair of the Surety Association of Canada and is an active member of the BC Road Builders Association, ICBA and VRCA. Brian was instrumental in negotiations with the BC Government leading to the acceptance of bonds as an approved form of security for reclamation obligations.

As an active principal of Wylie-Crump Limited, Brian will facilitate all surety programs and placements for selected clients in the construction and mining industries

 

Graham Sibbald

Graham's fifteen years experience with two of the world's largest insurance brokerages now brings an added professional value to meeting his clients' needs as broker/director and principal of Wylie-Crump Limited.

Graham has worked on a wide variety of clients and projects. His experience ranges from the implementation of complex development and real estate portfolio risk transfer programs to advising on road maintenance and road building risk exposures. Graham takes a hands-on approach to whatever challenges his clients may present to him.

Of particular interest to Graham has been large infrastructure works. Project experience credentials in this risk segment include the Lions Gate Bridge Rehabilitation project, Kicking Horse Canyon Realignment Project, Golden Ears Bridge Project, Northeast Stoney Trail Project and the Northwest Anthony Henday Drive Project.

Graham's educational background includes a university degree in the discipline of history from the University of British Columbia. Further, Graham has continued his professional education studies within the insurance industry and carries a Canadian Risk Management, CRM designation as well as a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker, CAIB designation achieved through Simon Fraser University.

 

Nolan Heuchert

As a former senior officer and construction practice leader for a large international insurance brokerage firm, Nolan has been engaged in a wide spectrum of complex domestic and international insurance programs as well as several P3 projects in British Columbia. Nolan's insurance knowledge and understanding of the construction industry is a highly valued client resource; appreciated by owners and contractors alike.

Nolan is involved and participates in a number of local and national construction and design industry associations. He is currently the chair of the Risk Management Committee for the Canadian Design Build Institute (CDBI), a chapter of the Canadian Construction Association.

Nolan's educational background includes a university degree in the discipline of economics and public administration from the University of Saskatchewan. In addition, Nolan continues his professional education within the insurance industry and has achieved his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation and his Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation through Simon Fraser University.

As an active principal of Wylie-Crump Limited, Nolan will facilitate risk transfer alternatives and provide independent risk abatement advice for certain accounts within the construction and design industry.
